Not sure what to bring to when you prospect for gold? Below is a list compiled by a long-time GPANM member, and successful gold prospector, Wes Lovett. If you prefer to download a PDF copy of this list, click here.
A checklist is very useful! Ask any gold prospector about the time they forgot to pack a snuffer bottle, left all their trowels home, forgot to bring a shovel, forgot to bring any classifier, or any container to put cons in, ... , and it was over an hour to drive back home to get it!
You'll find most prospecting trips involve bringing a lot of equipment. Checklists will vary depending on the type of prospecting you plan to do, that is, will you be panning, metal detecting, dry washing, crevising, high banking, ... . Without a checklist you're bound to forget something. Create your own checklists!
