Throughout the year members of the GPANM engage in a number of activities. Every month (except December) we have a general meeting where we discuss and make decisions on a variety of topics that affect all members. Immediately after the general meeting we hold the very popular raffle for gold nuggets, and end the evening by handing out door prizes.
In December, instead of our monthly meeting, we have our annual Christmas potluck party.
We take pride in supporting the efforts of the Los Griegos Health and Social Service Center. At least twice a year we hold raffles for gold nuggets with the proceeds going to the center. Using the proceeds we purchase items based on the input from the director at the center, who understands the needs of the community. Below is a video created from our 2019 donation drive, where the request that year was for hams.
We have monthly outings that are generally held on the weekends, and a few special overnight outings. The outings all focus on gold prospecting, prospecting education, comradery and family fun.
The YouTube video below shows one of our more popular outings where we complete using our skills (and with some luck) at finding targets with our metal detectors. The targets are traded in for silver and gold coins.
